Cancel online (monthly memberships)
The Cancel Membership Options page on 24hourfitness.com first shows a retention offer, then a "No thanks - I'd still like to cancel my membership" option. For limited-term or prepaid memberships, 24 Hour Fitness says to see a team member in a club or contact them instead.
Cancel by mail
We could not read the current membership agreement, which names the cancellation address. Two Carlsbad, California P.O. Boxes appear in different places: P.O. Box 787 (an official 24 Hour Fitness mail address, often given with "Attn: Cancel Dept.") and P.O. Box 2689. Use the address in your own agreement.
Send the letter by Certified Mail with a return receipt and keep the receipt.
Notice, terms and the annual fee
Secondary sources say monthly memberships need about 30 days' notice; we could not confirm it from an official page.
Commitment memberships are, in 24 Hour Fitness's fine print, "non-cancelable and non-refundable within the commitment period, except as provided in the membership agreement", and a cancellation fee may apply.
The annual fee is billed on the 15th day after you enroll and every year after that (amounts seen in 2026 offers: $49.99 to $69.99). A freeze does not stop the annual fee.
